St Johns Smith Square will celebrate the official start of Spring with the return of their Easter Festival from Sunday 2nd to Friday 7th April 2023. With ensembles such as Tenebrae and Polyphony performing music by J.S. Bach, James MacMillan and Dvořák, this is a special opportunity to be immersed in sublime choral music.

Across ten days, from Friday 12th to Saturday 20th May, St John’s Smith Square will host the London Festival of Baroque Music 2023: Kaleidoscope. The full programme for this exciting Festival will be announced early 2023, and promises to be a rare chance to be immersed in new and familiar Baroque music.

Continuing their 20th Anniversary celebrations, Southbank Sinfonia present an exciting programme of events in their home at St John’s Smith Square. Working with renowned conductors and soloists such as Owain Park, Nicholas Daniel, Lee Reynolds, Augustina Kapoti and Adam Hickox Southbank Sinfonia will present exhilarating concerts this season. Works such as Beethoven’s 7th Symphony and Dvořák’s 9th Symphony sit alongside less familiar contemporary pieces by composers such as Mark Simpson and Grażyna Bacewicz. Gábor Takács-Nagy also returns to conduct a Rhein inspired programme including Schumann’s 3rd Symphony. In April, the group travel to the Vatican to perform Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius with the Parliament Choir. After 20 years, Southbank Sinfonia continue to produce a diverse caliber of work for a varied audience.
